New Jersey is home to more pharmaceutical companies than any other state in the country, or any other country in the world. The pharmaceutical and medical technology industry is a major factor in creating a thriving economy in our state, as well as making New Jersey a leader in research and development.
The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey is a trade association for the research-based pharmaceutical and medical technology industry in New Jersey. Founded in 1997, the Institute serves as a unified voice for the industry and seeks to build awareness of this industry’s impact on New Jersey’s quality of life and economic well-being. There are currently 22 members of the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey.

The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey strives to raise awareness, understanding and public support for the research-based pharmaceutical and medical technology industry among New Jersey’s elected and appointed officials, media, citizens, and opinion-leaders.
The HealthCare Institute seeks to advance the development and implementation of sound public health and business policies that support the interests of New Jersey, it’s people and its research-based pharmaceutical and medical technology industry.
The Institute aims to strengthen the impact of the research-based pharmaceutical and medical technology industry by aligning its interests with the state’s leadership in allied fields.
